As long as the focus is on foreign initiated projects and the locals keep making things that the public has no interest in watching, or attempts to make "normal" mainstream films that fail the sincerity test, things will never change.

Forest for the trees time.
Aside from my opinion that deciding to host the Olympics here was an epic mistake, the province of British Columbia might as well amputate the Greater Vancouver area as soon as shut down Hollywood NorthWest. Which is exactly what it'll be doing if it doesn't smarten up and start to support this community industry... especially when it's something it does so very well.

I've had the pleasure of working in this industry on and off since I was a child. It's my true passion, my gift. BC is my home, My family. Everything I love is here. If the film industry in BC died... I'd have no choice but to leave, and the same is true for so many others. It's happening already.

We all must do what is best for our families and for ourselves. What's best for BC is to cut the crap and give OUR Hollywood NorthWest the support WE deserve. A good economy spends money to make money. A bad economy comes from foolish excuses for cutbacks and decreased spending (investment).

We've already seen what can be done, and the best is yet to come... IF the BC Film Industry gets the support it needs to compete fairly with other provinces and the States themselves.
